Recommendations for 7mm Wetsuit?

@MattMc3223 Highly recommend JMJ Wetsuits - as you'll read many people say, fit (not brand) is most important, and custom fit suit is the way to go.

I really don't agree with this statement when it is intended to apply to the whole population. Modern wetsuits have a considerable amount of elasticity in the material (much more so in thinner versus thicker suits), of course.

If a person is within a "normal" height, weight and body shape, an off the shelf suit may fit them fine. Of course, most women should be looking for women's suits.

I've had custom suits made before, they probably do fit a little better, but for me, the difference was pretty minimal. Nothing wrong with a custom suit, but the cost can be 2-3 times of some other suits.

If you have to dive wet in cold water, then open cell all the way. By the way, there is no difference between a wetsuit and a semi-drysuit apart from the seals and zips are better in the latter, so less flushing. Once upon a time, I owned a semi-dry that was so good, I had to flood the suit at the beginning of a dive by opening the neck seal to prevent suit squeeze. It was remarkable while it lasted.

For anyone in the market, I would suggest you look up the actual prices when making your comparisons.

I went with Henderson Thermoprene. I went with them, after some back and forth with Scuba.com, based on my body type/shape, as they offered an xl short (not the same as a shorty) that I thought was reasonably priced, and I liked the look. I have a 3mm and a 7mm and they have good fit and mobility. I don't have a ton of experience in the field, but they work for me.
