I walked into LP last Thursday to but an intermediate pressure gauge. They didn't have one in the store, so they told me they'd send it to me. no problem... sure. (I'm an amicable sort.) I paid and went about my business. The gauge was at my door at 10 the next morning, no charge for shipping and handling.

The moral of the story is that they are sometimes great, and sometimes bad, just like the rest of us.

Only 5 posts and a post about "LeisurePro".....seems like trolling to me.

I don't see what the problem is exactly, you wanted cheap and you got it.

I'm guessing he wanted cheap & new...that's probably the deal they cut with him to begin with........

LP is owned by Hasidic Jews, as are most of the Diamond businesses, and Camera businesses in NYC.

Their hours and holidays are clearly posted. Yeah, I know, I had a problem with a flash I needed during this time MANY years back from B&H. Be happy. In your case, you have a dive computer that likely works that you can use in the interim. In my case I had and my old dead flash, and a new dead flash, a Gig, and no backup. Not good, but it worked out as my primary lighting lived through the day!

My experience with LP has been all good. Sorry you got some used stuff. Likely a return, and they just restocked the shelves without looking at it.

I have to say I've had mostly good experiences with LeisurePro. I'll admit the service is usually lousy, but its hard to beat their prices. LeisurePro is an especially good option if you are buying stuff that doesn't necessarily need a warranty or servicing. For instance, I personally might be hesitant to buy a regulator from them, but a wetsuit would be fine.

Always great service from LP. One computer backlight died after a year. They gave me a brand new one. Can't beat that. Sometimes it helps to be aware of others' special religious or patriotic observances. In the case of LP as has been mentioned they are Jews and observe Passover. The fact that they will be closed for a week beginning April 2nd is plainly posted on their website. They are also closed every Friday afternoon and all day Saturday for Sabbath.

Well, I guess lesson learned...'just found that "Passover" starts today (April 2nd) to the tenth. And I think it's pretty cool that they observe the ENTIRE week. I will say that I still believe the attitude I received was beyond acceptable. If it had been sent correctly in the first place we wouldn't be discussing the issue. And so what if I like the prices and expect for a good product. They advertise a new product at a cheap price....that's what makes them competitive AND why most folks shop there. Cheap shouldn't mean damaged or used unless that's what's advertised.
So, if paying more for better service is what this adds up to then that's what I'll do.:chicken:
