I have that Samsonite F'lite 31" (hardsided) that Charlie99 mentioned. If you're not looking for something to carry onboard the dive boat and you're looking for "BIG," I recommend it highly." Bought it at e-bags for $110 including freight and there was a $25 rebate in the box. Empty weight is 13 lbs.

No lining inside making it almost water proof. I can pack 2 normal sized BC's, 2 pair of Atomic Split-fins, 4 wetsuits, 2 large Akona mesh bags - 2 of all the following; masks in their cases, snorkles, booties, 1060 pelican cases, flash lights and a lot of misc small stuff. Regs packed separately.

Flew with it packed that way once so far. It pegged 51 lbs on my bathroom scale so I knew I would be safe at the airport - those scales always weight me heavy. I had the wetsuits on top in case the airline complained about the weight but it was 50 exactly on their scale.

Thanks for the link!!! I was trying to figure out what bags to buy for xmas for my husband, my diver brother and my boater sister!

Most "dive" luggage is kinda cheap and does not hold up well. My favorite is the XL rolling duffel made by Patagonia. One huge compartment, high quality wheels and holds up great. Downside is it is expensive. Hiking stores generally carry better "dive" luggage than dive stores.

I just went through the process of buying a bag and I agree 100% with the above.
I ended up with the MEC Fast Track Roller Duffle from Mountain Equipment Co-op. the large bag carried everything my wife and I needed on our last warm water trip with room to spare.. 2 BCDs, 2 masks, 2 wetsuits, 6 fins, camera, safty kit, and bunches of our clothes (there was lots of extra room but we stopped packing at 55 lbs). All at a price much lower than a comperable "dive" bag.

LLBean Rolling Adventure Duffle. Guaranteed for life. I've had one since 1997. Luggage handling gorillas broke off the tracks on the bottom. I sent it back to LLBean for repair.....they sent me a new one no questions asked. Can't beat that! It's big and roomy....no pockets or extra stuff to make it heavier. Stow and go.

I have a Ralf Tech " Explorer Tech" . It is huge! I can store my gear, my wife's gear, and part of my daughter's one. Even with 40 kgs of equipment inside, it has been taking the load for 3 years of regular air travel. Large fin pockets on each side, good wheels, superstrong zips. It's a soft bag however.

I think I just posted this in a similar link: I like Pelican cases. Not a bag, but easy to wheel, large capacity, and protects your gear from baggage handler abuse

I also prefer non dive luggage for dive gear as "dive luggage" usually has big logo's advertising what's in the bag, seems like an open invitation to get your gear ripped off.

bored again, onespeed?? :D

Oceanic Cargo Ultra Dive Bag. 2 Compartments. Drain Holes on lower dive gear section. All Terrain wheels, compression straps. Top half keeps clothes dry and seperate. Fin pockets hold full size, and smaller slip on fins...at the same time. Sturdy bag worth every penny.

It's simple get a Dive Caddy. See Post DIVE CADDY - Airline Carry On Solution
