You never know what you might find till you explore it. There is a deep, cold, somewhat low-vis quarry in central wisconsin that gets a pretty good haze of algae by mid-summer. Under the 50' thermocline the water temp drops by 10 degrees but the visibility is fantastic. Because of all the diffusion above, almost no light gets below the thermocline, so its like a really cool night dive at high noon. Flashlights look like lightsabers cutting through the water, and there's treasures to be found at depth like wallets and phones and keys and sunglasses. When its high humidity and 90 degrees topside, going for a cool "night" dive in the middle of the day on a treasure hunt where anything is possible - beats just about anything else I'd do within an hour radius of home. Having a few friends to do it with, and then grabbing a beer afterwards while we try to track down the owners of the found items isn't a bad way to spend an afternoon either.
