I don't know if it's irrational, but love my Shearwater Petrel -- my first dive computer that I can see clearly in all conditions and understand all the relevant information at a glance. I was so used to having to squint and my computer and try to shine my light on it just right, and then when I could see it half the information I didn't know what it meant. I practically did a 'yee-haw' on my first dive with the Petrel (then remembered where I was and thought better of it -- still haven't mastered underwater yelling).

Exuberant? It's just a means to an end for me. I did much look forward to the foldable snorkel which works well. The bio tank lock and suspenders years ago elliminated tank and belt slippage completely. That's about as excited as I can get.

The first mask I had with built-in readers. Being able to read one's computer or bottom timer is such a comforting thing!

Along the same lines, my Xen. Such nice big bright numbers!

Anyone know if the light blue jet fins are available anywhere?

My Light Monkey 35w HID. Although I think my dive buddy got pissed because for 140 minutes in a cave on my first dive with it all he saw my Luke Skywalker light saber fight scene impressions.

Atomic frameless mask, it's the only mask I've owned that really fits my face.

That's funny, because my Atomic frameless mask does not fit my face and is one of my regrettable purchases. It seemed to fit fine in the store, but the leakage never did completely stop, despite trying all kinds of advice like loosening the mask straps. The much cheaper mask I had for 10 years before the Atomic never leaked a drop.

Definitely not exuberant, either irrationally or otherwise.

I nearly had an orgasm when I found out that I can buy a yellow banded Halcyon Infinity BC. There's some sleigh of hands involved, but it's all good.
