I will be going to Cozumel sometime around June, at which point I will have taken a nitrox course, and weather permitting, I will have my Advanced Open Water certification. My question is which dive shop I should choose. I would prefer something more personal (no cattle boats), and be able to dive my computer (From what I've been told I have fairly decent air management at depth). From looking at other threads it seems Scuba Tony, Aldora, Tres Pelicanos, Dive Palancar, and Blue Angel seem popular.

Edit: I'm also looking at buying and bringing my own gear, so rinse stations are a must.

I would recommend Aldora for newer divers as well as experienced divers. With seven boats, they can do a good job of matching divers of similar experience and interests. A few times when I wanted to dive in the afternoon or at night, they’ve only had enough divers for one boat and have asked if I mind going with newer divers and I’ve always said yes. I’ve seen how Aldora works with newer divers and can attest that they do a good job. Some of their guides (who are all instructors) are particularly good with newer divers.

By the way, I much prefer the small, fast boats over the bigger boats, despite getting bounced around a bit and getting some spray in the face. I never got to go to Maracaibo, Punta Sur, or even Columbia Deep with an op that uses the bigger boats. In my book, getting matched up with similar divers and getting to go to interesting sites is a fair trade for a little comfort.

I was in Cozumel last January and used Dive With Martin. It was my first time drift diving and enjoyed all my dives. They have 3 of the smaller boats. We dove with them for a week.

We dove our tanks, surfaced with our buddy and were not limited on dive time.
Their surface interval snacks were great! Fresh fruit, build your own sandwich, and cookies.
Best of all, they picked up at our hotel dock. I really loved eating breakfast, watching the boat come in and jump on.

Their DMs were knowledgeable, aware of everyone and led fantastic dives. Lucio and Jorge E were great, however, Carlos was hands down my favorite. I didn't rent any gear, but many on the boat did. Their rental gear looked like it was in good condition.

Hello Divers, We are OSEA, and we a new young dive company in Cozumel, visit our website @ www.weareosea.com where we post educational blogs about diving and where you can find more details about us. I have been diving in Cozumel for 4 years and racked up plenty of dives to guide my divers around on amazing dives. You can also find us on TripAdvisor https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attract...8-Reviews-OSEA-Cozumel_Yucatan_Peninsula.html where people have shared their divingexperiance with us. Lets blow some bubbles.

Out of the ones you mentioned I can only talk about BA a 3P's. Both are good ops. BA is really convenient if staying at the hotel. If staying downtown 3P's is convenient, however not as much as BA. 3p's will take care of you gear if doing multiple days with them and Jeannie at the shop can also help you with booking a room from some hotels the deal with.
