I was just marvelling at this thread, it's been going for 4 years! So much regret! It's not healthy...

Having said that, the stark realisation that the BC I bought off ebay and was so proud of, actually didn't fit me very well, when I tried a rental that did, was in the general region of regret.

Well TSamdM, let me see there was the gallon sized mask with a clear skirt that never made it out of the confined water dives!
Then there was the next mask that had a purge valve and a clear skirt!
Then I tried the Atomic frameless with a BLACK skirt never going back!
Fins well there is another story but I have no regrets just a gear collection that represents my personal diving evolution. I have come to appreciate trips down memory that help me empathize with new divers. It has produced a desire to help others make educated choices when possible. In the long and short of it we all buy gear that we grow out of or do not need but we move on and buy what we need. Eventually we end up with what we settle into our rig, then it becomes like our skin and diving takes on a whole new light. Welcome to diving bliss, or at least till something new catches our eye! Have fun the gear collection continues to grow!
CamG Keep diving....Keep training....keep learning!

My regret was a Isla BC by Oceanic. I was listening to others instead of doing my own investigating. Needless to say, I replaced with a ScubaPro Classic and I love it. It's the BEST BC for me being it makes me feel safe too.

hmmm....my latest batch of regrets:

Large Jet fins. Right now, I own a set of medium, large, and x-large Jets. The mediums work well for my wetsuit/single tank diving, and the x-larges work great for my drysuit/doubles diving, but what to do with the larges? They're too big to use for wetsuit diving, and they don't provide enough propulsion for double tank diving. Guess they are doomed to a life of sitting on my "extra gear" shelf

A wetsuit for my non-diving fiance'. It seemed like such a good idea at the time: Let's get the fiance' into diving! So, I went out and bought him a 3mm wetsuit...then the guy had to go and lose 60 lbs. Now, I've got a XXXL wetsuit, and no one to put into it. "Extra gear" shelf it is!

A 2002 SE Miata. I love the car, but you try cramming doubles, a deco bottle, a drysuit, two gear bags, a spares kit, a small Pelican case, and two reg bags into a car the size of a sardine can! :D Really starting to wish I had replaced my wrecked '92 Miata with something that has cargo room...say, a Range Rover.

But I made up for it with the ticket to Thailand 2 years ago.

I do regret the D4, I think. I think might has well have gotten the D9

My vest type BC. Went to BP/W and never looked back. Used to use the vest for pool work, but not even that now.
