that's great as long as the whale sharks know that they're supposed stick around that long.
 
My experiences are outdated, but I was amazed that the little First Mate swam with every pair going in. I guess that is a safety requirement. Back then, everyone got to swim as many times as they wanted. I was ready & eager for the first swim after checking with my home bud to ensure he was ready, but then he started talking to others on the boat instead of paying attention as was his nature and he missed the first GO! Be friendly with tipping the crew and tell the captain there was an extra $10 if you got to swim with a Manta.

I've seen whale sharks and mantas in February. There is a lot of residents that stick around the area. The issue is permits are only good for May 15- Sept 17. This year the govt extended to Sept 30.
