I'm 5'10'' and 260 lb. That's out of size charts that I've seen. If weight, hip and waist match, then height is 4 inches more than I have.
Do all manufacturers make suits for athletic bodies only? Do I have any choice except custom suit?
I don't believe in hyperstretch, I suppose that strched material loses most of it's thermal protection features. Is my supposition close to reality?

just run(edit i mean actually run up there) up to the dive shop each day and see when one finally fits :D but really those measurements dont mean crap... they just dont work.. heck if i were to buy "my size" i htink i would be quadruple XL and but if i wear that while diving i could pull a james bond and parachute to my dive site.. gl :D

I'm running about the same dimensions. There are a number of custom wetsuit manufacturers out there (Aquaflite, Atlan, LiquiFit, Wetwear, etc...). Some are pretty competitive with off-the-rack prices.

I use Aquaflite 3MM & 7MM f/J and been happy with the suits. BTW...they were one of the few that publish prices on the web.

Plenty of SB threads on custom wetsuits.

Good luck!

I'm a couple inches taller, my Akona fits great and I dive cold water. Otherwise, custom fitting a suit isn't pricey.

Oh!

Welcome to SB and be sure to fill out your profile so we know what waters you're diving in.

Sea ya!

No, not if you are going to do this for real.

Inexpensive and good are mutually exclusive...

Best I have found? www.wetwear.com (There are other vendors) Get the one with the full length zippers on legs and arms. They show up at dive shows and do measurements very quickly. They also do alterations if your wetsuit shrinks over the off-season.

Polarfleece? Fast service from http://www.uswetsuits.com/ Nothing for a website, but they'll fax you the measuring form and you'll have your suit muy quick.

What he said!

Get the right suit for the right diver. The minor cost premium is less than dinner and a movie if you get the popcorn. Honestly it will pale against your investment in diving and the joy it will bring you. We have had good dealings with LiquidFit and Atlan.

I'm the same size and I had a Wetwear custom suit made it fits great no if, and, or butts about it. FYI like rotanman said get the zippers they are great and make getting into you suit super easy. But if you want an off the shelf suit I just tried on a Pinnacle XXL and I got to say it fits very well also. http://www.pinnacleaquatics.com/default.aspx

Hotwave wetsuits make custom-fitted wetsuits at very reasonable prices. The website tells you how to measure and allows you to add a number of interesting options not found on off-the-rack suits. People I know who have bought Hotwave suits are *very* satisfied.
