Because i did it. Learn from those whom have done the stupid things and learn from their mistakes.
A 95 foot dive in 4 foot seas off the coast of Hawaii as an OW diver with a less than proper ascent and safety stop followed by a 50ft drift dive, leading to not feeling so hot about 3 hours after the dive with some vertigo issues. It toke about 48hours to clear up after calling DAN in a panic.
A proper AOW class will add to the skill of the diver giving them training to enhance there diving skill beyond standard OW and Nitrox will extend NDL and reduce Nitrogen loading on dives. At my age i really feel the difference between diving air and even a light Nitrox mix.
