Chip104, I salute you for the effort in trying! I am glad that you try to learn something new like the Filipino language. One of the reasons I love Mexico is they help you with your Spanish. Talk to most Japanese or Chinese, they'll frown on you for trying to understand and use their language. I grew up this way. I am ethnically Chinese but whenever I try to speak the language, I get frowned upon so I never learned Chinese.

Phil (bisugo767)

The important thing is that I try! It's still easier on SB - you won't have to hear my awful accent! :D (It's all about rapping the roof of the jeepney to hop off!...)

Thanks Phil. Yeah, I've encountered more than my share of people who have discouraged me from making the effort. Then there are the ones who are more open minded who I try to stick around more.

@chip: susama ka? :rofl3:
LOL. Well cause of you guys now I just say sama ka! :)

Well, I called Victoria Court Cuneta (in Passay) tonight and boy was the line bad...:shakehead: Basically, I found out that Victoria Court doesn't take reservations!!:shakehead::shakehead: Which I guess isn't all that surprising considering the clientel they cater to...:D:D Basically I was told to show up once I was in Manila and they would have rooms available.

What d'yall think? I don't know exactly how big these "Victoria court hotels" are. Do you think I'll be OK if I just show up? Or are there chances the rooms will all be booked? I don't really want to start hotel hopping in order to find a room, at 12:00 am, after 30 hours of flight/ airport transit...:(

Any insight/advice would be welcome! maybe I should just be looking at more expensive rooms...:popcorn:

Thanks again guys and galls!:coffee:

am sure they have plenty of rooms available as long as you do not show up on valentine's day:eyebrow:

they'll probably have you moving room to room every 2hrs... :rofl3:

just kiddin Codman... :eyebrow:

Codman - most likely will have a beer with you at the Point some time in March. Over a 1 month trip, there is bound to be at least one weekend in PG :)

u should be fine.

ten of us went to one a looooooooong time ago for the lack of a place to continue boozing (twas 4am or 5am then). they refuse to give us a room (surely we only need one room) because they strictly have a maximum limit of 3 people in one room :eyebrow:

what u can do is call them up when u arrive at the airport so if they are full, you would know before grabbing a cab. and there are lots of branches, i believe. they could check which has an availability for u then. i am not really sure if they'll do that but that is worth a shot. :D

.......although i realized that if u will call them thru a roaming number (when u are here) for a "reasonably priced Manila Accommodation", it might actually cost you more with the phone charges trying to get them to find you an open room :rofl2:
