:happywave Put us in your computer's favorites and check in often. This is a great place to learn, compare, argue :argue: Look around our various forums - everything from New-To-Scuba to Instructors-Only to Dive Medicine.

I am not at all a computer whiz, but I have most of these controls figured out. If I can help you learn to navigate around here, send me a PM. Click my handle in the upper left here, then click Send PM...

BTW - it would really help in future discussion if you'd complete your Profile. Click "User CP" upper left of this page, then go down to "Edit Profile."

Melionda- a good place to dive in this area is the shore diving at Catalina Island's Casino Point Dive Park. You can often find a buddy going there, and SB members are often found in those waters (including myself).

I'm a solo diver most of the time, but I'm sure you can find others willing to dive with you out here, or look for Wrinkle's (Ana's) monthly soCal dive posts here on SB which include mainland dive sites.

Enjoy SB.

Aloha Melionda,

We have some fantastic spots to dive and snorkel here on Maui. I know you're in LA but if you find yourself headed this way, look us up. I try to hit the water almost everyday when the conditions are nice. I know lots of cool places for diving and after diving activities too. Always looking to meet new folks that love the water. Good luck with your search.

Aloha,

Shaka Doug

Welcome to the Board Melionda, There's quite a few divers from SoCal here, check out the California Kelp Divers Club on the Board, there are regularly postings for people looking for buddies here in SoCal. If you ever make it up to Santa Barbara or the Channel Islands look me up. Or like Dr Bill said, Casino Point on Catalina is an awesome place to go too.
Have Fun, Dive Safe.
