I lost an old book mark. It was for a dive shop in W Plam Beach that had a very large selection of tanks for rent (with an option to buy). I was going to go there to try out a smaller stelel tank (have only used AL80s to this point but want to try the short squat steel ones - 66 cubic ft as I recall).

Thanks very much,
Dave

Why such a small tank? Your profile doesn't say much about you so I can't tell what size or age you are but 66 cuft seems a little small for all but a very small woman. Personally, I wouldn't go with anything smaller then an 80 cuft and I actually dive with 100 cuft steels. They are about the same size an an AL 80 and allow me to drop at least 4 to 6 pounds of lead and stay down a little bit longer then my buddies with AL 80's.

Dave--
I can't answer your question directly, as I've never set out to rent that kind of tank.
However, below are some links to the few dive shops I'm familiar with directly in West Palm.....maybe one of them will look familiar to you. (Don't know if these will come in as direct link or if you'll have to copy/paste them.....)

http://www.seaproscuba.com/index.html Just north of the Blue Heron Bridge on Dixie

http://www.force-e.com/riviera.html Just before you go over the Blue Heron Bridge

http://www.diversdirect.com/ I think they only rent standard AL80's, air only....

http://www.scubaquestusa.com/pages/interior.html They're way out on Military Trail...

Those are the ones I know of off the top of my head in West Palm; however there's plenty further south or north (ie, Boynton/Boca/Delray or Jupiter, etc.....) that yo may also be thinking of.....hope it's helpful!

Take a look at The Scuba Club. I know that the staff mostly dive with steel cylinders, so they may rent them also. I do not have their website to hand, do a google search for them.

that would be www.thescubaclub.com

and yeah all of them dive steel. I was thinking about making the switch too after I change my reg for a DIN valve.

You might check with Fill Express http://www.fillexpress.com/rentals.shtml
They have AL and Steel for sale and rent in both Rec and Tech, daily and weekly. And, they apply 50% of rental fees toward similar new equipment purchases.
