Puking in the reg wasn't so bad.

The black olive and piece of pasta left in the reg sure did suck on the next dive though!:out:

Walter - it was helpful to me to know that others have had the same problem that I had. Prior to figuring out that tums solved my problem I was concerned that I might not be able to continue diving / get into more advanced diving.

I didn't start this discussion, but I'm hoping that someone out there may benefit from knowing that this can and does happen, and that the situation can be managed in a moderately safe manner.

Why would you want a poll on this?

As i'm only starting my course next week i'm one of those concerned guys who is laying awake about every problem that i might encounter... :D
I posted a poll to get an idea if it is common or if it happens only rarely ? Does the diving on it's own make you more likely to be sick or is it just a matter from person to person...
The people that do have problems with it, are they often sick or have they got sensitive bowels out of the water or do only get it while diving ?

Atticus. I'm in the same boat as you :). I started getting sick towards the end of my first dive, and would be unable to complete my second dive (I was doing a lot of two tank boat dives at the time). I'd feel very sick at the bottom and safety stop, then puke on the boat and feel better.

I knew it wasn't seasickness, but couldn't explain it. Then I read a topic on this very thing. I now take a Zantac before diving, and have no probs at all.

On my last dive coming up from 150 ft a got a "verp" you know part vomit part burp..... and I was sure it had to do with the pressure and what I had to eat that morning ........ kind of scary with a big deco obligation ahead to fulfill, but in the back of your mind you just have to keep telling yourself leave the reg in your mouth, and everything worked fine.
