Both sites have docks with ladders for swimming and snorkeling.

I think shore diving can be a lot of fun. Not the mountainous coral reefs but I've seen cool stuff in the shallows I've never seen from a boat dive.

I've always avoided CDM because I've heard they have lousy wifi and charge a lot extra for it. Still true? Specifically, I've heard it's about $10/day AND limited to one device connected at a time so if you and your spouse both want to browse in the evening, that adds up.

Both Villablanca and Casa Del Mar provide good basic accomodations. Either one is good for that. Not many restaurants nearby for either one. There is restaurant at Villablanca and Sharkys Pub is also there. Papa Hogs serves food just south of the hotel. At Casa Del Mar they have restaurant. There is Ernestos Fajitas and Tekila Bar just south of that on the water and Sunset Grill and Bar is just north up the road. Best is to take a taxi into town and enjoy some great authentic Mexican food. Dandy Don gave good advice about getting taxi rates. Snorkelling is pretty good at either hotel location. The better snorkelling is between Tekila and Sunset Restaurants which is closer to Casa Del Mar. There is onsite Dive Shops or others within minutes from either hotel. August is great diving weather here.

Sharky's Pub replaced the restaurant that was there.

As to the question about restaurants, which restaurants are open? Which are closed permanently?

yes this should be a concern for anyone traveling now. that is one reason people "may" want to consider an all inclusive. although i still do not fully understand why an AI is allowed to open but restaurants are not. i am still hoping / waiting or some first hand reports from any of the AI's.

Turquoise Restaurant bar across the road from Villablanca is permanently closed so that one is gone too.
Yikes. That is/was part of the Blue Angel family.

Eva posted this on one of the FB Coz groups yesterday...

Good Afternoon. This is Eva, the actual owner of Turquoise. Upon instruction of my legal team, and basically because I did not feel the need to announce this legal issue, I said nothing, and will not be updating information on this matter. I find it interesting, who the people are writing with such authority about what is happening with my Company, especially people who have never even actually been a customer of mine, such as Teresa Williams, who seems to know everything about my business, seemingly more than I do. I will say this, that what i have read from different comments, the information here is not correct. But really, when did that ever stop anyone from getting involved right? I wish everyone good luck with the openings happening on the Island and never wish bad luck on anyone. I hope we will all have viable businesses, and be able to support the Island again, very soon.

The owner of the property Issac Urbie said that Eva didn't pay rent for two years. I think Issac stating this is an authorative source.
And you are posting that in here... why? That's between the parties involved and none of our business.
