And you are posting that in here... why? That's between the parties involved and none of our business.

I know you're a fan but it is something that matters to me in determining the places I support.

Whether I am a fan has nothing to do with it. It's none of my business or yours either, and it's hearsay, besides.

I have stayed at Village Tankah, next to Casa Del Mar, and I would recommend that. It's very small, only 7 rooms (I think) and I like it a lot. I also like Roberta's dive op. I don't know anything first hand about Villablanca.

Restaurants in the area of Casa Del Mar are limited and kind of bleak IMO. Ernesto's is just okay and Paprika is terrible. The good restaurant choices are all in town, which is a solid 40 minute walk or $7-8 cab ride (who knows what they're charging now). This is the disadvantage for staying down there. For me, I really enjoy walking so I don't mind a good long walk into town for a mid afternoon meal. I also keep a supply of food and beer in my room (there's a fridge). Villablanca is probably halfway to town, so a much shorter walk to get to the good selection of restaurants.

I have no idea what restaurants are open, and personally I would be worried about a spike in covid in August as the island is visited by more and more teeming-with-virus tourists. But hopefully that worry is overblown and you'll have a great trip.

Roberta sends out updates to customers on her email list about what is open in the area. Paprika's is currently opening and latest word is Errnesto's should be open early July.
