Still waiting for my Halcyon order

Im not complaining about Halcyon its my LDS feeding me BS thats really pissing me off.

My problem is with my LDS, they continue to tell me halcyon is defines slow, and pretty much say its all Halcyons fault. However this is not true. They required me to pay in full for the Halcyon items before they would order, which i did. They sat on my order for 7 days before it went to Halcyon, this i know because i called halcyon. My reciept shows me the day i paid for it all and halcyon told me the date the order came in. Furthermore, when i asked my LDS if he could tell me the day they ordered it all he said was i dont know. They just didnt want to tell me they sat on my order for a week, and let the blame go to Halcyon.

Lucky for me there are alot of LDS, this one wont be seeing another penny of mine.

Andy

There customer service on the phone and at the shop is terrible i might add.

I had the same problem with my LDS when I ordered my regulator. My LDS mostly carries Scubapro and Atomic regs, but I wanted a Mares. He said he could still get it for me but would have to order it. Said it would take about 2 weeks to come in. It wound up taking about 6 weeks. I only had to pay 1/2 up front and balance when it came in.

Whats irritating about it is that I could have ordered it online and had it in two days.........for $100 cheaper!!! I didnt want to get my reg online though. I wanted the service and warranty by purchasing it local. Patience has its rewards I guess.

trymixdiver,

We'll try an experiment, I'm going to be ordering a 36 lb. lift Pioneer wing from EE tomorrow. We'll see how long it takes to get here...

To avoid this in the future im going to use EE or DiveINN. I service everything but regs and im working on doing that in the near future too.

Another thing they did was service my 2 regs and then the tech went on vacation and i just got them back today. He never said he was taking off for 2 two weeks a few days before he left. i had to wait 2 more weeks to get my regs because of him. There was just the total lack of concern on his part. Im shocked, i am in customer service for my job and i would be out of a job if i did that.

i cant for the life of me figure out how this shop is still open, i never thought they would survive and now its 4 yrs later. Go figure!

That stinks...

I ordered sompe new hoses from EE on Saturday at midnight via the internet. They arrived yesterday.

I've always been happy with their service and all my previous orders have arrived in less than a week.

Good luck.

To make you feel a bit better trymixdiver, I just placed the order with EE. The wing is out of stock :(

Fortunately I don't need it until July, so I'm not panicking. Yet.

Your lds may have sat on the order for a week but it wouldn't have made any diff. We have bunches of Halcyon stuff on back order. We are waiting for plates, wings, hoses and even spring straps. Some of the stuff was ordered months ago. Waiting a few days to place an order makes no diff when a company is that far behind on production. BTW, last week I visited the Halcyon facility. We were in Fl. cave diving and had a battery for one of our HID's go dead so we drove to Halcyon earily one morning. Halcyon is a small place with not many people working there. I think they have big time growing pains.

I'll lend you my 100# OMS BWOD if you need it... :tease:

To the point, the follow up done by MOST of the LDSes I have been to is less than exemplary. I order stuff that *I* need, but the mark up is not great, so it's on low priority. There are two shops that have NEVER gotten me the stuff I ordered. If I were to go back right now, they would teall me it's still on order and that they just don't know what is wrong. If you follow up enough with them, they might follow up on your order.

I rodered the H valve adapter for my Genesis DIN valve. I can tell by his eyes that he forgot. Unfortunately, Leisure-Pro is on holiday, so I will have to wait. I really wanted that for this coming dive at 40 fathom grotto. Now, if only my new wing will come in!!!

that in the long run, if your instructor is unhappy with a piece of gear, DON"T USE IT WITH THAT INSTRUCTOR. I do believe the person who will be teaching me cavern and cave is DIR, so I don't want to cheese him off from the beginning. Heck, he might start beating on me like Uncle Pug... :tease: The 100# wing is used with my OMS IQ system, and I will let that system remain intact. I am giving the whole Hogarthian system a fair look, and the lighter (55# lift) non/bungeed wing is part of it. Diving without my Cobra will be the hardest part, but I am willing to try it. Maybe.
