LOL no reason to feel foolish, your new to the area, no one expects you to know all the names of all the dive spots. I've been here almost a year, and I'm still learning.

heh.. yeah I guess there was no need to post "directions to venice beach" Other than maybe to help the search engine here and the people looking for venice beach or alhambra directions. I wonder if saying the words directions and venice beach a bunch of times will help the forums search engine ranking.. heh

On Thursday, the winds are just starting to pick up and shift to Westerly in the early afternoon, so 1100 looks like it should be pretty good. I dove Alhambra yesterday and today, both days right around 1400 to 1430 and the vis was about 8 ft. I think I'll still be working in the area on Thursday. If so, I'll try and make a lunch dive of it.

I got there about 1045 and there was a jeep cj I didn't recognize and Jeff, a local professional toother who's not on the board. Shortly after I arrived, the owner of Depthfinders, Terry, showed up with a bunch of Charlotte County Sheriffs Divers for nav training. I met the jeep cj diver coming out of the water as I was headed down, but I didn't ask his name and not sure if he's on the board or not. Got in the water about 1100. Vis was around 5 or 6 ft. farther out, near zero until after the sandbar. Some surge, but not bad. Waves in the 1 to 2 ft. range. Several flags in the water and several more vehicles parked when I exited the water at 1245.

There were these two guys, in full wetsuits who were just swimming out when I was coming in. They were diving without a flag and would drop down into the chest deep zero vis soup, swim around in a circle and pop up to see how far out they had gotten. I watched them do this three times and cover maybe 40 ft. before I headed up. It was good for a laugh.:lotsalove:

i didnt even get to go out that day..... i came home to find all my gear stolen :( Worst feeling in the world!!!
