Hey guys!!!
Me and a buddy are going to venice on thursday... were thinking 11am but are willing to adjust times if anyone wants to join and us... we got the whole day open and just wanna have a good time and see some teeth....
~Maya~:)

This sounds like alot of fun. Is this a beginner friendly dive? I'm a new diver but eager to get some more bottom time with some experienced folks. :D

Its a great beginner dive... right off the beach in 15-20 Ft only. Great to test and exericse skills.

Sounds like a perfect spot. I've dove Spanish Rocks a couple times now and Devil's Den once. So, this sounds like a great spot to practice some more and work on my air consumption. I'm a regular HOOVER!!! ha ha. I'm in St Pete/Clearwater area and willing to drive. Just let me know. How far away is Venice Beach?

The drive is 1hr from Apollo Beach/Riverview..so I'd guess from Clearwater area it might be a tad bit more..maybe 1:20hr? from St Pete it's prolly roughly about the same 1hr.

This is an excellent dive location for beginners... This coming from one. :) It's a calm beach with not many waves usually or strong current(From what I've seen). You'll enjoy it.

I would join ya, but I have to be at work by 11am. :) lol

I'd love to join y'all thursday, but w**k prevents it. I'll be at Alhambra saturday though.

Where is Alhambra?... Im looking to do a dive on saturday and sunday but i wanna be back in St Pete for the St Pete Open weigh in on Sunday at 6 Pm. I was thinking if doing a spring dive or something.

Here ya go Maya. :) You'll want the "From the North" directions. Alhambra is the name of the road that everyone parks on. So it's commonly just called Alhambra(Venice Beach).

Hope this helps. (=

******************************************************************************
Directions to Alhambra / Directions to Venice / Directions to Venice Beach

From the North
Head to Venice on I 75. Take exit 200 (SR681) and follow it to US 41 where you'll turn left (south). Take US 41 to Business US 41 (Tamiami Trail, a little over 5 minutes up US 41) where you turn right. After you cross the bridge, you'll turn right at the second light, Venice Ave. Turn left at the first light (Harbor). Turn right at the 5th street (Alhambra). Follow to the very end, near the tall skyscraper condos. Park on the street as close to the dead end as possible. Be careful not to block the driveway to the condo. Observe the no parking signs. Keep your dive between the culvert(large water drainage) to the south and the three tall trees just north of the culvert.

From the South
Head to Venice on I 75. Take exit 193 and head SW (coming from the south that’s a left turn) on Jacaranda. Turn right on Venice Ave. Stay on Venice Ave until after you’ve crossed the bridge to the downtown area. Turn left at the second light after the bridge (Harbor). Turn right at the 5th street (Alhambra). Park on the street as close to the dead end as possible. Be careful not to block the driveway to the condo. Observe the no parking signs. Keep your dive between the culverts to the south and the three pine trees to the north.
You will want to unload your gear at the dead end the go find a curb side parking space being careful not to block any driveways.

alhambra is Venice beach, probably where y'all dove last weekend. It's the beach access at the end of alhambra rd. in front of the condos. Where on Venice beach did ya dive last weekend?
