Which gender in relationship do you feel is most favored by Valentines Day?
Do women reap all the goodies, or do men get their fair share as well?

Valentines day is all about the women giving to the men! There is a recipricol day on March 14th - you can't beat the capitalism out here!!

Either way my girlfriend wins as it is her birthday on Monday...

I'm with you - chocolate is (and should be) a year-round thing anyways.
(Though last year I knew I was going to be out of town so I pre-arranged to have some Bernard Callebeaut ready for my SO.)

Hmm, the chocolate Valentine's Day lollipops went to males, didn't they? BOTH sets.

Nice poll, CD - though I think you're just trying to get some of the attention away from a recent birthday boy (bestowed upon him by the Coalition Of Older Women That Live Far Away From O-ring) :kitty:

Well, I'm not particularily talking about chocolate, but gifts in general, jewelry, chocolate, flowers, etc.

Ya, but the males BOUGHT the lollipops, they weren't given them by a woman!

Actually, this poll had nothing to do with O-ring (interesting parallel btw). It actually originated at work where I had a debate with several women regarding the fact that Valentines appears to be very lopsided in favor of the women.

How many commercials have you seen advertising sales on jewelry that she will love? Compare that with how many 50% off sales are going on at your LHS (local hardware store) :bonk:

Don't get me wrong, I love to surprise someone with presents. Just seems to me that men are more *expected* to do this as opposed to the women. Yanno we might like flowers every once in a while too! (Jepuskar made me say that)

<mental note: start working on COAWTLCOFFCD early>

(coalition of any women that live close or far from cave diver) in case you were wondering. (and I know you were)

I'm not gonna discriminate against those that might be younger or live close like O-ring did!

That's how I usually feel about Christmas.

What an excellent idea! After all diamond (tipped drill bits) are a girl's best friend.
(Hmm, make mine a Dremel - been wanting one for years.)

Cut flowers die, chocolate gets eaten, jewlery can't be worn in the lab or while diving (and lingerie sure isn't for *our* benefit) but a well chosen power tool will be a joy for many years to come.

Heh - I figured out your acronym before I saw the line below it. Nyahhh!
(addendum: you goofed though - check your letters - my guess was "Coalition Of All Women That Live Close or Relatively Far From Cave Diver)

Do we want to know *how* jep made you confess your secret love of surprise bouquets? Hmm, no - probably don't.
And you might want to think a little more about that "Equal Opportunity Flirt" label you've just stuck on yourself, it's easily misunderstood to mean... something other than age or distance.

See you all at the hardware store...:D

(edited to add: I'd be voting "yes, forget it altogether" on benncool's "poll" too. Unless they had sales at the hardware stores)

If this post asked who would be the first to vote for forgeting about the whole idea of Valentine's Day--a man or a woman?

The men would far out number the women.

Hmmm, are you SURE you wanna post your preferences for Ummm, "powertools" on the board??? Soooo many ways that could be *mis-interpreted* on soooooo many levels...

That would have worked also, but I fixed it to read properly. Opps! Figures you would be the one to check that. (I woulda done the same for you tho, so I guess we're even; well except for me, I can be a little odd at times)

Actually, that was just my not so subtle attempt to prod him into posting a response. Seems like just his kinda poll...

I aint concerned about the EOF. I'm often misunderstood, this wouldnt be the first and certainly won't be the last. The scary part comes when you actually START to understand me instead...

Now, if the hardware store was in the same building as the video store as mentioned in another forum... and they shared a common back room... WOW! could things get interesting in a hurry!
