I probably could but, quite honestly, didn't even think about it. It is hard-coded to 1.3 and I never need to check that it switches, etc.

I have set-point auto-switch turned off on the Petrel controller as well.

I just find better that way, because if for some reason you lull in swallow water before going deep it doesn't count CNS up. Well quite marginal, but still.

No.
Not really worried about it. The pressure doesn't spike fast enough for me to worry about. With a hose attached, takes a second to pressurize. The Apeks reg has the small orifice for the HP feed as do most every modern gauge. It's not then nearly instantaneous pressure spike that I worry about.
