I've typically had no problem seeing underwater, and didn't want to pony up for a prescrip mask. Anyways, i was thinking about removing the side pieces of a pair of old glasses and just using the main frame/nose pieces in the mask. Not sure they would even need to be glued in as they may stay on my face just like that.
Pros cons? Thoughts? Just for surface snorkeling.

Thanks

I use to know somebody that did that for snorkeling only. He said it worked "good enuf".

any plans for the nose pocket?

I tried it out with a scubapro VU and it actually worked.

Stick in lenses such as Dive optix are not very expensive. Dive Optx Magnifier Lenses reviews and discounts, ScubaToys

Also there are many mask now that you can get lenses for without a huge investment.
Buy Diving Masks with Optical Lenses by H20, XS Scuba, TUSA, Mares

You will have fewer troubles with fogging of the glasses inside the maks as well as when clearing your mask.

Hmm, yea fogging would be a problem most likely. Thanks for the other links, i'm gonna look into them.

I use contact lenses for diving. Easier to deal with than prescription lens masks.

Scott or Servieair use to make a mount for perscription glasses for their SCBA masks. It was a wire oval that came down in the top middle and hooked to a rubber block that a perscription glasses frame was mounted on. You could try bending some wire to mimick the design and just bend the center portion around the nose peice of your frame.

During a recent visit to my optometrist, she showed me a mask being offered by a company that incorporated an internal bracket for a seperate lens frame. Didnt make sense for me, but I thought it would be a good solution for a child with a changing Rx.

year ago, my husband did that for snorkeling (disassembled pair of old glasses and glued them in w/some type of epoxy)....... it worked!

If you would be happy with a vintage mask (old oval style) many of them have intentions in them to hold glass frames. You can remove the ear pieces and simply slip them in.
