HydroOptix also makes conventional flat Rx masks, in addition to our 4.5DD / Double-Dome mask. These are custom made precisely to your Rx.

That said, a custom Rx mask for someone farsighted may be a waste of money, and you're better off with eyeglasses inside a mask.

If your distance "sphere" Rx (not bifocal, but distance Rx) is greater than +2.00 (which makes you farsighted / hyperope vs. a "-" value of sphere which makes you nearsighted), then a bonded-on lens will be optically inferior vs. eyeglasses with the same Rx. And your field-of-view will be greatly reduced vs. a non-Rx flat mask.

Why?

All eyeglasses, regardless of Rx, are concave facing our eyes, so the optical path is close to being perpendicular to angles-of-view that are off-axis (when looking through eyeglasses, we don't always stare where our nose points).

Nearsighted Rx dive masks are concave on the inside, just not as steeply curved vs. their eyeglasses. (Of course our 4.5DD is the exception!)

But a conventionally-made Rx dive-mask lens for someone farsighted must have an inside surface that's convex, bulging toward your eyes, curved the opposite way vs. eyeglasses. That wrong-way bulge distorts images and reduces field-of-view.

Downside to a lens "carrier?" The three internal lens surfaces must be thoroughly prepped with anti-fog gel before each dive. If you take the time in pre-dive prep, fogging is not a problem.

We believe an internal lens "carrier" is the smartest compromise for strong hyperopes, short of wearing contact lenses. This delivers superior optics, and preserves a better field-of-view. This also happens to be much less expensive.
