It just occurred to me that "hangman" would be a lot faster game in Hawaiian.

trucker girl:
Incidentally, I did buy some Hawaiian "Go Fish" cards that I think are waterproof- but not plastic (so I won't be punching any holes). They have fish like the Humuhumunukunukuapua'a (the state fish of Hawaii)... a little more interesting than trout, bass, bluegill and catfish!

Hey now. Let's not forget about the carp and zebra mussels

Why yes, I would love to dive next Tuesday...if only I could afford it... :(

TG, glad to have you back.

I'm so sorry RJoe. Honestly, I can't really afford it either, cause I'd have to rent a 7 mil ($15), plus admission to the quarry ($20), plus a tank rental ($10).... but it gives me at least an hour of not thinking about what I can and can't afford. When I'm underwater, all is good.

And the ever elusive paddlefish...

erparamedic: no diving Tuesday methinks... I've done enough traveling in the past 36 hours to last me a while. I did my last Waikiki swim yesterday at 7 am (1 pm eastern time). Ahhh, the memories.

I bought some of justleesa's professional photos rather than taking my own- she has some amazing pictures in her album for sale- and I put an order in for some pictures of the wrecks I dove that are on her www.oahuscubadivers.com site and weren't pre-printed in her album. I went through every picture on that website- including her entire dive log!

Thank you all for the warm welcome home. BTW the plastic case the Scubuno cards come in made it to Hawaii with me (without the cards, though) and I have to say- it makes the perfect makeshift wallet. I kept my cash, credit cards and drivers license in it the whole two weeks. Thought THIS group could really appreciate that info!

So that little box DOES have a use! After an eventful afternoon... I don't think I'll be diving on Tuesday... I'll be close to home in case Sierra's back is bothering her (she's my 6 year old).

She took a fall from the very top of the slide (about 8 ft up maybe)... and landed on her back. She doesn't remember hitting the ground either, which means questionable loss of consciousness, maybe head injury. So that was bothersome and we had her checked out at the ER. This happened at the afterschool program, and there were plenty of staff with the kids, but nobody actually saw the whole thing. The exam and Xrays are ok... thankfully, but she is very sore. She'll be sore for a while, I suspect.

So... I definitely won't be diving in the next few days... I'll be sticking close to her and home.

AAAACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Should I run over to test her skills at Hawaiian Go Fish? You need a specialist, after all! Hey- er doctors are a dime a dozen. Trucker girls bearing Hawaiian Go Fish cards (and an intimate knowledge- not THAT intimate- of underwater Uno)... well, I'm probably one of the very few!

I'm sure you are truly "one of a kind"!! Unfortunately, this is my long weekend... but Rod will be home with her. I just feel so bad for her... she'll probably hardly be able to move today. I'm sure a nice little game of Humuhumu go fish would surely make her better! By the way... she CAN totally say the whole name of the Humuhumunukunukuapua'a fish... and loves to say it! LOL

Back on topic of ScubUNO...

I must tell you.... Jonathan had to write an essay about giving an award to someone.... and he wrote about giving "mommy" the "ISOSAD Great Player Award". LOL He tells about how you and I went diving and played the first official game of ScubUNO! Isn't that funny.
