I'm looking to extend my horizons by diving the U-853 in August of 2005. Anyone here done it and/or have suggestions?

OK..you just tapped into one of my dream dives. For two years now the U-853 has been one of my GOAL dives. I finally feel that I have the experience, equipment, and more importantly, common sense and ability to do this dive. Being a strictly recreational...non deco diver...it would be a quick dive...but well worth it. How about trying to get together a group of divers that could charter the whole boat for such a trip? I am sure that my two regular buddies (both DMs with about 1000 dives between them) would be interested.RICoder:I'm looking to extend my horizons by diving the U-853 in August of 2005. The only problem is that they've been dredging the bay, and dumping the sediment about 3 miles up-current. I don't know if that project is still going on [I've not been out there this year] but I think so.r37691:Thanks for the info Spectre. I'd be up for a dive on it.
Spectre:1) Make sure you know how to run a reel or know how to dive by braille
2) Make sure Soggy isn't planned on the boat.
