So what is the performance difference between these two regs? One has a balanced piston while the other has a balanced diaphragm. I know that it becomes more difficult to breath at different depths...does this feature deal with this? Mostly I want to know which regulator would be best to buy and why. (Limited budget) Thanks.

The flow thru piston design on the 130 is unique to Tusa and actually pretty cool but I think you'll have higher performance on the 230.

that is without testing.

Well, I am really new at this whole thing...so by "better performance" you mean what? (I know that breathing resistance increases with depth...what features compensate for that?)

Better first stage performance but it is unlikely that you would actually notice.

What you may notice if you dive cold water id the 203 resists freezing better.

What's your budget if you don't mind. I'll recommend what I feel is the best reg at the price (even if its not Oceanic)

Well by I will be in spring water so cold will be around 72 degrees. My budget for a regulator is $350 max. Actually I am hoping to get a good package deal from scubatoys.com. Honestly I have about $800 to buy reg, octo, gauges, and bc. I am hurtin' for funds. :)

I PM'd you
