Over here: a small bangka (boat) with max of 5 divers, we just use one to 2 plastic crates and stash every dive gear in there. Bring our dry boxes with our valuables, and bravo! We chat our way to the dive site and just pass along our gears when we're ready to plunge. :)
We dived off of something like that in Bali ... looked like an oversized canoe with a motor on one end.

At Menjangen Island the crew just tossed everybody's gear overboard, and we geared up in the water ... :D

I dived off of a "banana" boat when I was in Puerto Vallarta. We wore the wetsuits the whole time... we had to wade out to the boat carrying our gear. Nobody brough bags, but the "shop" had a place to store stuff.

same thing in Cuba, no bags because we were "ready to dive" when we got to the boat by walking in the water. But I had a lil' soft cooler for my camera.
