With a big bag or mesh bag you have considerate and inconsiderate people.

Couldn't we say this about anything. Some people are considerate of others. Regardless of what kind of bag they use.

You would think that that would end this debate. But I'm sure it won't

DBailey:
My experience is that people with a mesh bag have a "gear explosion" and have to unpack all of their gear just to get to the piece that they need. All of their gear is spread out in the aisles and on the seats. I think that is inconsiderate.

People with the big bags (in my experience), open the bag and get the item(s) that they need. Then they get the next piece. All of their gear is on the tank or in the bag, no "gear explosion" here. I think that is considerate.

If it is packed properly,[ never seen a mesh bag explosion but have seen rolly polly, hard sided, screw you big bag explosions], there is no problem. Big luggage bags with wheels, that do not fit under your seat on the boat, as in the type you stow all your clothes and gear in on the plane, is not being considerate of your fellow divers. be considerate.

yes, we could say that about anything but there are some things that are just so obviously self-centered that it cries out for correction. If your hard sided, wheeled bag, that is the size of a small steamer trunk, does not fit under your seat, then get a proper dive gear bag. be considerate.

On a side note. Herbman, sorry for telling you you couldn't call me PiFi. I was reacting to another poster and it carried over onto you. I was being too sensitive. You may, if you like, call me PiFi.

And I'm fat, too!

I am amazed that this has turned into a 13 page thread, but I guess we can keep it going a bit longer...

I really don't get onto the boat with this...

but I am fat. Really Fat. I take up much too much space on a dive boat.
For this, and all future transgressions, I am heartily sorry.

That would be fantastic to put one's "Save a Dive" kit in. Great idea.

Your fat. Oh no. Someone will be diving in their sleep tonight and have a run in with you. Should be a sad thread on its way. Can you hear the wheels turning?

no...its already been decided that wheels are BAD!
No more wheels should turn!

Huh, this is a strange thread. It's simple.

Take whatever gear carrying device is appropriate to the boat and the dive, that will still carry your gear.

There, that wasn't so hard, now, was it?

Yes, I agree and with that I resign.
