Well every time I have been out, the captian says that "the pool is now open and be back in an hour". It is just a big ***** pool. So maybe size does matter.

I dive at a local aquarium and log those dives separately. For me, my dive log is open water dives.

No, but I'd love to play in it anyway.

I might. Why wouldn't you? I think it would qualify under SSI standards of 15' for 15 minutes, but I won't swear to that.

It's not open water. I wouldn't log an aquarium dive either. Actually, I might write it down in my log, but I wouldn't number it.

Not to argue, I'm kinda working through this myself, but there doesn't seem to be much difference between a 'pool' of this size and depth and a quarry.

Do you log your pool "dives" when checking new gear or tweaking setup?

No. But I have an 1800 gal. koi pond in my backyard. If I haven't been diving in a while I might be tempted to log dives in it. ;) I'll have to really watch my no deco time as I count snails and tadpoles.

I agree with other who've said that noting gear configuration, etc is useful for later reference. But its not a logged dive.
