I have only been diving with people i have made contact with through my ow and advanced class, problem is no one else has there own gear and has to rely on rentals and never have the money,my son is almost certified but we are going to wait till water warms up to finish his last 2 dives.so if anyone is in the same boat as i am get in contact with me.I have my own gear and want to get in the water I really dont like to solo dive but I am going to corona del mar this morning just to get wet.by the way i have under 20 dives under my belt but am a competent diver,I would have a lot more if i had people to dive with.I dive mostly in orange county and live in rancho cucamonga.

http://www.sandeaters.org or http://southcoastdivers.com will get you wet on a regular basis. Sandeaters is NOT a dive club, but IS a dive scheduling organization. They have a dive scheduled for every Sunday at 0800 a.m. someplace in Southern California. They dive Malibu to Laguna Beach and sometimes a little further north or south. No dues, no club officers, just good diving. You are responsible for your own diving and decisions, but there will be people there and usally you can buddy up with someone. There is also a mail list you can join that will allow you to send a message out requesting a dive buddy on a date or time other than the scheduled dive.

South Coast Divers IS a dive club. They dive every Saturday in Laguna Beach or there abouts.

Either way, you can get wet weekly weather permitting.

I also own all my own gear and dive most weeks someplace between Malibu and Laguna Beach. PM me for a dive sometime. Certified in June 2001 and looking to get my 100th dive this week.

Hey Pasley,

I am not sure if you know anyone at the sandeaters web site but I did sign up for the weekly e-mails and it states that it is still pending and has not been approved by a moderator........ So I still have not gotten any of those E-mails. I am just waiting to get my reg Serviced next week and will hopefuly be getting wet again very soon. Hopefuly I will be able to contact you for a Dive soon. Are you going to be in Avalon for the Harbor clean-up? Saintsfan I to am a little north or your area but will Dive from Malibu down PM me and we can see if we can get together I am a newer diver as well but looking to get as much time underwater as possible.

They have not yet posted the 2004 schedule and are running a bit behind on approvals. They will get to you shortly. If not try again.

I don't think I will be able to do the clean-up. PM me for a dive sometime. I dive Malibu often as well as Palos Verde and Laguna.

Saintsfan.. PM me if you wanna go over to Catalina in your boat. I'll give you the low-down on the anchoring (no boat tendering) things I do too keep ya safe and no worries about losing your boat. :)
