It might be time to lock this post since the original objective is resolved. I don't mind off topic but this is not where I would look for the insights being shared since the forum was opened.

You have entered the Solo Divers forum. This forum is intended to discuss the limits, skills and techniques related to solo diving and not to debate its relative merits.
Richard. I take that rule to mean debates along the line of "you are going to die" if you solo. And that discussion has no place in the solo forum.
Might be worth rethinking this rule. Now that the forum is open, and probably more people who aren't already solo-diving or predisposed to it will be asking about it as a potential pursuit, it seems to me if those threads start (or get moved to) this forum, some discussion of the relative merits of solo diving are almost unavoidable.
People will violate the rule without even realizing it, or any ill will.
Just a thought.
Richard.
And there's the problem. "Traditionally" the solo forum was for solo divers. At least that was my perspective.I think you are right on about this. I am not a solo diver, after going through the ringer about even asking the question, would be hesitant to enter the forum, for I do not want more of the same reaction. Others who might have similar approach to this topic might be hesitant as well.

Seriously Z Gear. You thought that was the ringer? I think you may not be ready for the advanced forums. Period.
