Time for a meet and greet?

What's near Squaw Valley? I have a timeshare there I've yet to use.

North shore has some diving around Stateline. Not sure about access I usually go to Meeks Bay or D.L. Bliss.

From Squaw you can drive around to those places in about 30 minutes or so.

Actually...Tahoe is on my list of places to dive.

James Here. I think this is a Brilliant idea. I am up for June 26 Somewhere in the Ocean.

There is a lot of visibiltyn in Tahoe to clearly see nothin. Besides a crawdad. Nevermind he is in his hole.

We can do Fort Bragg nice camping little abb!!:cool2:

End of June could work nicely for me, either place. About tahoe: sure it's barren, so why have I had so much fun diving there? I think it's the whole picture; everything there is beautiful, and I already have decided to make at least one trip to Tahoe this summer/early fall. I've only been to Meeks Bay and would love to explore further.

Tahoe diving is boring once the water gets tolerable. Last weekend we saw a nice sized salmon.

One good dive is a little swim from D.L. Bliss state park. There's camping there and it's close to South Shore for those that like that kind of action.

The dive is just S. of the park, the promitory between it and Emerald bay. The dive is called Rubicon by the locals. It's a sheer wall, the top around 60 feet also has some geologically interesting parts.

#1 you need to NOT be overweighted. The wall goes all the way to the deepest part of the lake. The top at around 60 is a nice deep safety stop.

This is also altitude diving so maximum depth is more like 95 feet instead of 130.

Water temperatures in the summer are in the mid 50's. Those of us that live here use Tahoe for our fresh water rinse after diving the blue water for years

I was looking at one of the newbie posts and thought, hmmm would be a good time to schedule a meet and greet to welcome some new blood into the fold.
How about tossing out some dates gang? We havn't done Tahoe, we can plan on a dive/camp weekend I have may 28th weekend open.

Hi all! I am very, very new to SCUBA (doing my OW Cert this weekend at BW, but oh so excited) and I'd love a chance to meet everyone. Just wanted to point out that since Tahoe requires Altitude cert you might lose some newbies since we aren't certified for it yet.

You'll be fine! Altitude diving is no different than ocean diving, you just have a couple extra rules to follow. I don't think Tahoe has been confirmed yet anyhow.
