I'm a Fish!
I forgot to mention that as a practical joker I have also planted items in advance only to pretend that I found them during the dive.

This recently backfired when a lady that was using a metal detector became very upset that I found pirate gold without the aid of any detecting equipment.
She would not leave our side for the rest of the day, even after I tired showing her that it was only a Disney coin replica from Pirates Of The Caribbean.

Well, on a New Year's Day dive this past weekend, I was diving here in Cuba and found a heavily tarnished coin at the base of a coral head. I dropped it in my BC pocket and later that evening put it in a cup with some hite vinegar and after about 10 min, began cleaning it with a very soft toothbrush. Slowly the date 1792 appeared on one side. Halleluiah! It was a 2001 Kentucky state quarter. :acclaim:

I'm a Fish!
More stuff last weekend

Lauderdale by the Sea reefs:
plastic frisbee ring thing
couple of bottles, one nice and crusty (going in the treasure bin)
3lb dive weight (I think it was)
some other random stuff

Little Deeper boat drift dive (West Palm beach)
Breaker's Reefs, Fourth Window and area:
sports bottle
plastic shopping bag (which I used to collect trash after finding it)
lots of old beer cans
bottles
shredded shopping bags
fishing glove

The dive master was like WTF when I surfaced at the boat with an entire bag of trash we collected LOL

I was snorkeling off the hotel beach in Mexico a couple weeks ago, and found an American dollar bill. I'd have liked to find more, but that's all the guy had on him.

I'm a Fish!
Snorkeling the local river:
Small stuff
A tackle box worth of fishing lures, mostly spoons and spinners.
Fishing rod in good shape
8 pairs of sunglasses
A silver or white gold ring that I promptly lost... my precious!
Too many golf balls
Valve wheel

Big stuff:
Dragline bucket
Rafting paddles, only dropped once.
Part of a wood stove
What may be a logging truck trailer. Hard to say, it's below a bridge though.
