I want to thank everyone again for their help. This board, and the divers on it are such a wealth of information. The fact that folks have put so much thought and effort into this question is a testament to that.

THANK YOU!

dry land option: Key Lock Box | MAKO Spearguns

or something similar....

this one has a 2.75" x 2.75" x 0.5" storage area with a possible 2.75" x 4.25" x 0.5" on top of it, maybe a little more...

I will be home next week. If you want me to check the inside dimensions of my camera case let me know.

I looked back and saw you are at Buddy Dive. You will probably do a lot of your dives there and nearby. Its a fairly well populated area. But if you head north, especially to the one way road, or to any of the further southern dives, make sure to take along something for hypoglycemia. Possibly glucose tabs or gel which would probably be fairly safe tucked out of sight in your truck. Or hard sugar candies you can tuck into your case. And of course a longer lasting carb to prevent a rebound. And perhaps plan a little less strict control for days you venture afield. I am sure you already have an action plan in place. Just some thoughts off the top of my head given the logistics of shore diving Bonaire

Your suggestion of seeking a dive shop to hold the meter is a good one.
There are none except at the dive resorts. 90% of the shore dives on Bonaire have no facilities at all. Afternoons we often never saw another diver - even at the 3-4 sites you can see in some of the south areas.

I actually have one of those I got years ago on a trip to a water park.
The o-ring in the lid is suspect though since it's probably dried out.

Shops around here sell a small Otter Box with real solid closures but it's not dive rated according to their website. Under $20 if you want to risk it.

There is a Dive Friends shop adjunct to or within easy walking distance to each of the shore dive sites I listed. Though since they are with Buddy Dive I am not sure what their response would be to the request. It would be simple enough to send an email to ask. I would even be will to ask when we are there later this month.

At the risk of stating the obvious, you're spending thousands of dollars on this trip... The canister I bought came from Australia and cost about $100 by the time it got here. I'm pretty sure that would get you about 3 minutes in a foreign hospital.
That's true. But also true that the most expensive option doesn't always work best, and if you can get something inexpensive that does the job as well or better it's worth looking into. Like any dive gear, really.

I think this may be just what you're looking for. According to your dimensions, it is exactly the right size.

I have one of these and and it has never gotten a drop of water in it.
