The Wreck of the Palawan

Luck was with Power Scuba &The Pacific Star yesterday! The conditions on the Palawan where calm, flat, with decent vis. 19 divers enjoyed TWO! dives on the old Liberty Ship. I have wanted to dive this wreck for a couple of years. It's great that it happened on Veteran's Day weekend. The 3rd. dive was in the kelp near Vicente? Point? A big Thanks to Bill Powers and the Pac Star crew.
I would like to know what the purple/blue critter is called?

@MaxBottomtime could likely tell you the name of that critter.

That would probably be Point Vicente. I used to shore dive there quite often.

Disporella separata. The only place I ever find it is Pt. Vicente.

I was on that dive with Power Scuba. Excellent trip. Particularly the Cormorant we saw swimming underwater.

@JamesBon92007 The third dive was Pt. Vicente. Conditions there were flat as a pancake.

I think I must have collected about 40-50 pounds of fishing weights in the Point Vicente area.

Between the two dives on the Palawan... and with contributions from some of the other divers... I collected 30-35 pounds of fishing weights. That wreck gets fished ALOT. Hard to believe there's ANY fish left on it, but there they were.

50+ feet of vis on the Palawan. I count that as a "win"!

A fishing barge, The Isle of Redondo, was anchored on the wreck of the Palawan from 1980-1997. That's why there are so many fishing weights.

No. MANY of the weights were quite new,

Just found this memory lane on the Palawan. Time to dust of the gear., now that I'm healthy again.
Maybe do some spring cleaning off shore.
