Sigh. Here I am sitting in Sarasota, so close to Molasses Reef (well, a LOT closer than I was on Catalina). Would be a pleasure to dive there again (it's been a few years). Hopefully I'll connect with you and Pete, Elena, on one of my future trips to care for Mom.

Hi Dr Bill,

That would be great. Looking forward to meeting you sometime.

Hope your Mom is doing well. Been there done that with both my folks.

DrBill, so close, yet so far. Maybe you can bring Mom when's she's up for a short trip to enjoy a day or two in the keys while you sneak in a morning of diving.
:hugs:

The wind finally laid down for a bit. We went to a little patch reef in Islamorada(Secret Garden), 35 feet viz .
Hens and Chickens had no viz and also the Coast guard was boarding a boat for illegally fishing inside the reef(hooked on the mooring ball) so we moved on.
The moon jellies are still around and now they brought their nasty cousins the Man of war.

Packing, packing, packing! Another week - I can't wait! :) Not that December diving here in SoCal is all that bad, but I am looking forward to shedding a 7mm for a few days.

terrific day above and below the water in the upper keys. short on time today, double on deep molasses; 1-2ft seas decreasing as the afternoon approached, minimal current 1st dive, zero on the 2nd. dusty blue water, viz only 40-45FT, 75F @ 55-90FT. 65-70min dives, 36EAN, no jellies, abundant tropicals. pics courtesy of tim,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Nice pix it seems conditions were better at MO. Good to hear no jellies, we saw plenty of man o wars on the way out. Did you see any going to the reef?

observed 1 very small man o war on our surface interval and moon jellies on the ride in. zero during our dives. heard they were thick @ greacian rocks and the statue yesterday,,,,,,,,,,
