Congratulations John!
Chris, if your rescue class is anything like mine was, You'll get a lot out of it. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
I'm hoping to be getting into a dive master course after the first of the year, so my chances to dive with you guys may be a little slim, at least early into the summer. It's good to see that everyone is doing very well. I'll be taking my dry suit class on Nov.11th, so I can grow icicles when I get out & not freeze my tushie off! Perhaps I'll be able to dive with some you all some time this winter.

HI Tammy!!!!

I informed my previous instructor today I was jumping over to NAUI, I'm not just
an agency hopping fool due to any particular agency, but due to the fact I've never
really found an instructor through a local LDS that I really thought lived up to my
first instructor. He took the extra time to teach beyond the written materials,
he gave up scuba instructing for other hobbies. Then jbd comes into the picture,
he has sparked my intrest in continuing my dive education. He has a passion for
diving and turning out the BEST quality student possible!

I hope to have a dry suit sometime before the end of the year, got some shopping
to do! Hope to see you again and do some dry diving!

We are counting on you being present for the UW Christmas tree decorating in Dec.

So can we turn this into a possible dry suit make sure I know what I doing course? I still feel like I am missing something after my course.

I am all in for a rescue course. I agree with Chris, it is time to job agencies.

I know I learned an increadible amount in my rescue class this summer. It was fun, but at the same time challenging (especially for me being the only female in the class- but hey, it had it's perks too!:eyebrow: ). It taught me a lot about self & situational awareness, along with the actual rescue skills. In a nut shell, it taught me most on how to avoid a rescue in the first place.

I'll be doing my dry suit class on Nov.11th (I should get my suit in about a week). I'll try to make it up there sometime, not sure when just yet. I imagine Nov. & Dec. is going to be pretty booked up, as usual. but after the first of the year things should settle a bit & I'll be chomping at the bit. Take care of yourself & get that hip of yours healed up.

Sure, we can do that with anybody thats new to drysuit diving.

In the class you took were you taught to use the dry suit for bouyancy control? Its a do-able method unless you have my drysuit:D I prefer to use the BC for bouyancy control since that is its intended purpose. If I'm diving deeper than 50 or 60 feet with the drysuit I add just enough air to provide a touch of relief from suit squeeze.

Either way its still diving and proper weighting and trim are important as with diving a wetsuit.

That was the way I was taught but I soon forgot about it. I prefere the BC method and just take the squeeze off with the dry suit.
