After visiting LeisurePro's retail store and experiencing their "customer service" first hand, I would not buy any life support system from them. Even though the sales person was somewhat knowledgable, he was surly and generally had a poor attitude. It was more of "what you want next?" vs "may I help you find something?" If anyone has shopped at Fry's Electronics, it's a similar experience.

And to compound the issue, many of the BCs that were brought out for us to look at and try on were older models. How much older? How about a 1996 Zeagle Tech? Or maybe you would like a 1996 Zeagle Ranger?

Their prices are very good, but for regs and bcs, I would buy from my LDS or some other store. Even if the LDS can't match the prices offered, the customer service and attention I get from my local store is worth the extra expense. Plus, my LDS won't sell me an 8 year old BCD without telling me.

I just purchased a ton of gear from leisurepro.com.
Was told by another that they may not be a proper retailer of the equipement they sell, and that warranties may not be available on my "new" equipment? Anyone had any bad experiences with them? Hope I've done the right thing and purchased from them. Thanks!

In most cases the Manufacturer will NOT cover warranties for items bought on the net. Leisure pro is a net dealer. Leisure Pro says they themselves will cover the warranty. That means you can forget manufacturer help if in the remote case you ever need it.

I've used them a bit, with all the money you saved, just buy a new one when it fails.............who cares?

Assuming you're new to the site (Welcome!) and not trolling, Leisurepro is a hotly debated topic here. Here's a good starter thread: http://www.scubaboard.com/t44244.html

In short, manufacturer's warranties are not valid with LP purchases, but LP offers their own warranties on the stuff they sell. I've bought a lot of stuff from them, but not any of my "high maintenance" gear (BC, regs, etc.). No problems with anything, however.

BTW, scubatoys.com will match LP prices, and their stuff comes with manufacturer's warranties.

Nope, not "trolling?" I thought that was a fishing term. I was a divemaster years ago, here in Islamorada, FL. Decided to get back into it, and check the "LDS" they all seem to cater to the "wealthy tourist" Very expensive. I bought a reg, octo, computer, bc from LP, they said would warranty it thru them personally. I called a number of manufactures, Aeris, Aqualung, Oceanic, and yup, they won't warranty the stuff. LP says the stuff IS new. guess I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the heads up on the thread. Thanks!

I recently bought a regulator from Divers-supply.com. They are an authorized dealer and offer warranties supported by the companies. Well atleast for dacor. Their prices are resonable and they say they wont be undersold. so check them out. In the long run a few extra bucks for a company warranty may be worth it

I bought my reg, bc and gauges from LP. So far no problems with LP. The service has been great.

I purchased a Scubapro/Uwatec computer from LP. ( My LDS didn't stock it)
It had a recall, LP sent me an email. I sent it back and got a brand new one in the retail box, no questions asked. I will buy from LP again. ;)
