I think they are orthodox jewish.
I also think today is a jewish holiday.
If they are in on Friday I bet they close by 2pm.
(I use to work for a guy who was very religious)

The reg isn't broke it just needs a little adjustment or at worst a new seat. Seats will go bad whether the reg is used or not. We often had regs sitting long enough that we put a rebuild kit in them before we sold them.

He said the reg was a Mares Axis octopus. We had two full sets in the house and they would require tuning frequently to stop the slight freeflows that would develop.

I took them to another shop and when they opened them they said the seats were worn. They also stated that these models were known for soft seats that marked easily. They replaced the seats, and they've now been trouble free for three months now. Or at least one set has as I've since upgraded.

xjae, that's correct. that's also why they are closed on saturdays. and mike, they do service regs and are actually quite good at it.

Not trying to get into the LP vs LDS debate. I use both, and spend enough money in both places that neither should complain

Having said that, why are so many people assuming that LP is lying? What benefit would that provide them over saying they have it, and factoring thier vacation into the turn time for repair/replacement?

I'm an Account Manager for a mfg. company that ships about 60 million dollars worth of product annually. Most people have no idea how many problems like this happen every day with shipped packages, and it's not always the senders, or the receivers fault. We've had delivery drivers get a package signature, and then accidentally put it back on the truck with his pickups. Sometimes the package will be halfway across the country before the carrier finds it! All the while, the customer will be yelling "I have a delivery signature"!

Once you get up into high volume shipping (we get 18 wheelers picking up Fedex) errors like this become common. It's a much more likely scenario than thinking a multimillion dollar business is going to lie over a $30 reg. tune up.

Ben- I hope that it turns up when they get back, and you're in the water again soon.

Very good points Scott.

Hope everything works out and that you are back in the water soon...

These guys are probably doing 10 to 20K USD of business a day. There shipping room must be a busy place. I doubt if the clerk runs each return up to the desk so they know as soon as it arrived.

Reefer Ben,
I've spent enough time in your great little town to know where two or three good bars are with some attractive women. Go have a couple of cool ones and enjoy their company, You will feel much better and not hypervent over this. It will all work out.

Sells more in a year than most MANUFACTURERS.

They are NOT a "mom and pop", and for a tracking number or package to be "in the machine" for a day or so before they can find it by simply asking if its there is not unusual at all.

Nor is it unreasonable.

Get the proof of delivery from UPS, and deal with them being closed Fridays. They're orthodox Jewish, and those folks simply don't work part of Friday and all of Saturday. Period. I have a number of friends who are of that faith and anything other than prayer and reflection is simply off the table for them on those days.

(Yes, I know some folks don't get it, but its similar to the ultra-conservative Christians that won't lift a finger on Sundays. Same deal, just a different faith.)

You mean they don't even dive on Saturday - Seems to me some diving involves a little prayer and lots of reflection.

For my part I've never had a problem with LP. Order on Sunday and it's delivered by Tuesday. Call wednesday night and it's there by Friday.

Also as everyone else has said it could have been misplaced. We had a delivery addressed to "Steve." It sat on a shelf until I remembered. Would have been prudent for a company email "We have a package, who ordered it." But not that time.

Relax and remember they will be working on Sunday for you - call them up instead of emailing!
