After I informed them I would complain to the California Attorney Generals Office of their refusal to honor their warranty they changed their tune.

Ahh, well that worked only because you live in California. Trying to convince someone they have to honor their warranty under California state law is MUCH easier than convincing them they have to honor it under Magnuson-Moss.

Mike - is it any surprise to you that LP is located in NYC? I mean they certainly aren't the only ones in NYC with back-door access to goods....I don't care what industry it is.

Many LDS want to bad mouth LP, and many divers thought LP get its products illegally. Please consider the FACT: LP has a dive shop in NYC. It is an authorised dealer for the brands it carry. Due to its success online business, it can purchase high volume quantities, this allow LP to negotiate prices with suppliers. LP use its store front at NYC to purchase from its suppliers LEGALLY. Supplier like Mares love big volume store and would gladly supply LP.

LP does not need Back door access to goods, or illegal business transaction. It is a legitimate dive shop in NYC which use catalog and online marketing technology to maximize its market share.

For those divers who enjoy good prices and good service, and comfortable with purchasing products unsing catalog or online, why not try LP? It is elementary, Watson. :haha:

My other 1/2 does a lot of internet shopping and I have to say that this company has everyone hand over fist....Mention thier name in a dive shop and no one will try to hard sale you on anything!! They saved us major bucks on our computers!! Ended up with lots of extras....(unexpectedly until Leisure Pro entering our lives) So far we have had no bad experiences with them. We have even had occassional returns....

What are you smoking?

I buy plenty of LP items, and they are *not* authorized dealers for "the brands it carry" as you said. Call the manuf. and ask. I called Dive Rite, for example, and was told that Dive Rite has no clue where LP gets their gear from, and would shut down that path in a heartbeat, if they knew.

If they were manuf. reps, then why would there be a need to get offer their own warranty in place of the manuf. warranty they can't offer...

Back door access is exactly where "some" of their goods come through. they are reps for some manufacturers, but not all by any means. (Second example...SUUNTO computers...)

Please pass some of what ya smokin' along...Must be some great stuff.

"ooops...I have to make a correction. I did recently have some regs come back because of the Zeagle recall. For the divers who weren't in a hurry I sent the regs back to Zeagle for repair because I wanted Zeagle to pay for their own mistake. In the case of the divers who need their stuff back fast I fix them. The problem with that is that I don't get paid for it so I only do it if I must"

I found out about the recall from the web :) (Call me an educated consumer) and matched my G/F and my reg #'s up to the 931 that were recalled. I bought them at my local dive shop in June so I took them in and inquired as to the recall. I was assured that the parts were replaced before they were sold but they would inspect it just for my piece of mind. :doctor: Guess what - they were never replaced with new parts!

:boom: Do statements like the one below really apply - remember YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN LIFE.

"Over a divers career (especially a new diver) I can save them time trouble and money and even entire dive trips in ways that LP will never have a clue about. Many divers are to short sighted and uneducated though to have any more of a clue than LP does. All they see is a price tag on a single stupid item."

 Undereducated/clueless consumers wouldn't be smart enough to shop at LeisurePro. Perhaps if the local dive shops got a little more competitive they wouldn't feel so threatened :mean:

Zeagle pays the dive shops $7.50 for each of the repairs. I was told this by the service department at my local dive shop - there not doing it out of the goodness of there hearts.

PS: I bought some Tusa X-Pert Zoom Open Heel Split Fins from LeisurePro for $89.95 today.;) My local dive shop wanted $149.95:upset:

Is it any wonder why LeisurePro is a success?

I had an octopus go bad. It wouldnt stop freeflowing it was the Mares MK12 Axis Octopus. I emailed leisure pro, they emailed back,

"Send it back"

Then followed with

"This is the RA# put it on the box"

I sent it on friday, they got it monday. I also had a Dacor Viper set that needed inspection so I figured why I was sending the other set back I could send this one in for inspection as well. They said that would be fine.

On tuesday I emailed them to see if everything was ok, they emialed me back

"as of today we dont have the box"

I sent them a link to the tracking info and the tracking info seperate and told them according to UPS they do have it.

They emailed back,

"whats the tracking #?" On wensday.

I emailed them I already sent it but here it is again.
I pleaded with them in the email to get this straightened out by the end of the day so I didnt have to stress over all my missing gear.

I got no more responces. Then this morning I called and get a message we will ge closed for vacation untill next friday.

They made no mention to me they would be closed. For a company I have sent so many divers to, and have spent so much money with they don't seem to care about the package. I am getting very upset and am one step away from reporting them to the BBB. I also made a report with UPS.

I don't know what to do, what would you do?

I am not defending LP but if they are on vacation then that's a done deal and you have no control over it. Did UPS deliver it or is the prob on their end? This is one of the possible drawbacks to buying online from LP or anyone else for that matter. The same thing could happen with your LDS sending it to the distributor. If it's any comfort to you I returned a computer to LP a month ago and sent it USPS Priority Mail and it all went smoothly. Give it some time now that they are on vacation.
:shades:

UPS delievered it and has the POD. LP is saying they never got it.

I think they could have told me they were going on vacation and would work it out when they got back but made no mention. I hate LP now, b/c of their lack of communication. One sentance respnces are unacceptable.

In quite a few situations we've run into companies accepting the package and then denying it. It'll get misplaced or some such.

On UPS.com you can actually get a copy of the signature accepting the package. If I remember correctly you can also get a letter faxed to you stating that the package was delivered.

I don't remember exactly how to get to this information, but I believe you track it and then click details. The information should be easy to access from there.

Good luck and hope it gets straightened out soon.
