i dunno...
i might be willing to try that...
i wonder where one gets a cage?

I'm not saying no, I'm just curious about how safe that is. Granted I could use a few nice new scars, but being bitten by a shark is damn inconvenient for the crew on the dive boat... blood and chunks everywhere, not to mention what it can do to a wetsuit.

Have their been any documented attacks on divers (opposed to surface swimmer)? How often do people dive with them without a cage?

I am seriously curious here...

There is a chap who does charters out of Pt. Judith. johnnyseko is afraid to leave the cage and so is JohnL apparently. Why would I want to sit in a cage and get chum in my hair while waiting for sharks to show up when I can hover at 50' in blue water?

I am NOT sitting in a cage unless something large enough to swallow me whole shows up. Great whites can only swallow 135lbs whole and I weigh more than that in full gear and it's not like one will show up anyway.

what about a jaguar shark?

I'm not afraid...just trying to show some consideration for the crew of the charter boat. it's a bad day when you have to clean your clients off the deck with a hose.

You still haven't answered as to how agressive they are toward divers.

well if you get chowed by a shark. the crew dont have to hose you off the deck...
your gonna be shark poop

They're a small shark though...what do you do with the leftovers

If you don't look or act like food they aren't going to bite you. Staying out of the way also helps and for goodness sake don't touch the shark! That particular charter has never had an issue and they do recommend you stay IN the cage but I am stubborn.
