Mine has been dropping between 2-4% per week when off since I got it back from service in August. I don't bother turning off the compass or AI functions.

Our Terics are our everyday wear and are dived several time (4-8) times a week, year round. However even when charged to 100% and turned “off” and on the dresser they can loose 40-50% of that charge within 24 hours. We are both on our second Terics as a result of this issue.

This kind of battery drain can not be what Shearwater expects.

Have any battery, or other, changes been made in more recent versions of the hardware?

Ours are hardware 25016-02 A and 25016-01 A and both at firmware v18.

Thanks.
Hello, bought a Teric a few years ago and I noticed that the battery discharged at a high rate when turned off. I tried disabling the compass but that did not really help. I use mine almost daily in free-dive mode. The last time I updated the firmware I noticed that there were several thousand dives recorded on it.

Firmware = v33, Hardware = 25016-02 A

I have the same problem with my TERIC. I had the battery replaced at Dive Tronix, LLC, by far the best customer service and repair center for Shearwater products. I noticed a slight drain of my unit when packed away in its case with everything disabled that's outline in the Shearwater owner's manual. I call Dive Tronix and had a wonderful conversation with the owners and they said please send back and we will repair it if necessary. My problem is I live overseas and wasn't planning a trip to California.
I worked for a major player in the dive computer industry we were the official supplier to the USN & NATO until Mike passed away.
So, I searched the internet and found a lot of chatter about TERIC battery issues dating back to 2018. It seems they turn a blind eye on the ongoing issue. Many TERIC owners said after new battery we're installed that "circuit board tested for high amperage draw and found to be within specifications from tech's notes". I find that comment very concerning.
Shearwater is now and still the best dive computer company in the world. I personally have 7 other dive computers from Shearwater and have never had any issues with them. I personally know the Partridge's and the company hasn't been the same with dealing with customer issues since them giving up the helm. The employees in CS are still the best in the diving industry it's the morons running the company that are pretty clueless.

Registered just to post about the Teric as well.

8/6 @ 3:40p - Turned Off with 86% charge
8/7 @ 12:00p - 66%
8/9 @ 10:22am - 34%

I emailed Shearwater, who recommended contacting my local repair shop for the US. They quoted:

A Teric battery replacement falls under our General Maintenance Service for $150.00. We will test all the components, replace the battery, bezel screws, chassis O-ring, any bad button, update the firmware and make any factory required modifications to bring the unit up to today's build standards. If any internal components have been damaged we will send you an estimate for repair.

I purchased it while in Hawaii after getting certified with lots of optimism about diving often. I think this Teric has been in the water 3-4 times in its life now (lol). I'm likely going to ship it in and pay the money just to make sure it won't die on me when I finally do get to dive with it again, but wanted to share that if you're out of warranty, it seems like you'll be on the hook for that repair fee, even if this is a known issue.

If your computer is under the 2 year warranty, your repair is free. If your computer is out of warranty, you pay $150 for routine maintenace. I have had 8 Terics and several repairs since 2019. I have never paid a thing.

Unfortunately, your battery is done... When I had the batteries done on our terics, the batteries were lasting for weeks and weeks with no charge

I just checked mine and they are at 62% and 68%, I have not charged these things since January when they got back

They are not fully baked until loosing about 5% a day. Yours seems like its still pretty good. Take them out and charge them once a month if not being used frequently.

I think you misfired, my batteries are brand new. Lol

I did forget I charged them in May after Cozumel. So they've lost 10% per month.

The OP knowing now the batteries have a short life should disconue using it as their watch. You can buy a cheap sharkbite for $50.
