Sorry for the slow input to all these great posts....I'm a slow reader.

In addition to all the listed reasons why Texans are so passionate about their state (I was born and raised there), there's the education (some would say indoctrination) that kids get in school. I can't recall how many courses in Texas history I had...2 or 3, I'm sure.

It's the stuff they make movies of (wait...they already did!). Not many other states can boast of a history with that much depth (let's see....Illinois...Hmmm...oh, yeah...John Deere invented the sod-busting plow. Very important, but a little low on the adrenalin scale).

Y'all come now, y'hear?

The only use I have for Country music is to dance (two step) to.

How many cities in sung about in Country Music AREN"T in Texas. Other than Nashville....

Great Cities of the world are all in Texas..... London, Paris, Athens, Palestine, Rome

then there is...

Gun Barrell City, Cut N Shoot, Luckenboch (sp), Pflugerville, Muleshoe

You can dive a flooded Missile Silo in Texas
You can dive with a number of endangered fish and plants in one place.
You can dive the Gulf of Mexico's northern most reef system. (ok so that doesn't belong to Texas)
