As divers, we accept the responsability for our actions. In fact we insist on it. We rile against goverment intervention and regulation of our sport. Why then are we even considering giving "pet owners" a pass on thier responsability?
Now what if you have a bus with refugees on it with pets, some may be large pets. And you run out of room on the bus do you toss the dog for the person? or is it first come first serve? What if the pet is injured or lost in transit? I see litigation with that. The rapid pit bull decides the poodle is lunch and a little girl witnesses the carnage.
Get real. You own a pet, you make the decision. If you stay and don't leave your pet then that's your problem. You want to dive to 260' on air, I'll try to talk you out of it but...
