The 5thd-x (actually, now called Breakthrudiving) gang just released a teaser trailer for their upcoming tech DVD. Check out:

So far, I have their Essentials DVD and their Intro to Tech DVD. Both have been quite good with skills demos as well as presentation content. I am not sure if I am going to head down the tech world but I thought some of you tech folks might want some reference material to add to your library.

As always, no DVD or book can ever replace the real thing. But you tech divers know that better than I do.

Disclosure statement: I have no affiliation with Breakthrudiving other than being a satisfied customer.

While I haven't taken any Tech instruction from Breakthrudiving (or 5thd-x or whatever you know them as), I have been through a lite version of the their simulator as part of their Recreational Diving Level 2 class. The gremlin with the blue gloves of doom definitely made for an interesting experience.

As an aside, I will be posting my impressions of that class under the recreational forum when I get a little bit of time.

Hey Adobo, since you have both the Essentials DVD and the Intro to Tech DVD, what's your opinion on overlap between the two? Based on the descriptions of content alone, it seems like the Intro to Tech DVD covers everything that the Essentials DVD covers plus more, and there's voice over and "grease pencil" overlay. Is there benefit to both or will I get all the info from the intro to tech DVD?

Thanks,
John

I think you get everything and more with the Tech DVD. They definitely took the feedback from the first one and improved the second.
