Tec Training with Chatterton, Kohler and Mace

I've just had the best week of my life. I attended the Advanced Wreck, Deco and Advanced Nitrox class at Conch Republic Divers in Tavernier FL. The class was run by Richie Kohler, John Chatterton and Gary Mace. This was the BEST TRAINING I have ever had. I started diving in 1969 and this has been the best. If you THINK you might go inside a wreck, or do deco at some time in your diving career, do your loved ones a favor and take this class. I've taken too many classes from pudknockers that have little or no experience and no idea what the hell they are trying to teach. These guys have been there, alot. I have no doubt that I will live longer because of these guys. They did a great job of setting up real world problems for the students to solve while in the water. Boom Drills, Out of Gas, Lost line, Cut line, (Look out John's Got a new Knife!!).

My business dictates that I will have to enter wrecks and now I have an excellent foundation to build my experience on.

Damn Good Training and NO BS. If you get the chance to train with these guys, DO IT!

Sounds like a great experience, with great instructors. What I love about technical wreck is that it highlights to you how much you DON'T know...when you previously thought you did.

Can you give information that would indicate how other interested divers could get this experience in the future?

Just get on Richie's, John's or Conch Republic's web site and let them know you want the class. It Will make you a safer diver...

Dan thanks for the great comments on the class. I know John, Richie, and I really enjoyed teaching it. And it was a pleasure being part of a class that was so willing to learn all the material that was thrown at you. I also enjoyed going over the material and diving with you guys. OK...and dishing out all the drills we put you guys through.
