Perhaps packing in luggage can put unnatural stress in the FFs? When packing mine I am careful to pad the fins to maintain their natural curves.
the tears are from too much force on the flipper from the footpocket i think . i know originals do tear out as they are softer. the pros might not tend to tear out in this area

It is made of rubber (rubber masses). So it can be repaired where you can repair a car wheel. They have glue for gluing rubber. I glue rubber (Cement sc 4000) /. firmly and reliably.
Force fins too slippery for any glue to stick

What is the exact spot? If force fin tears I don’t believe you can fix them since it is made out of rubber. I dive a pair of force fin original for a long time. No problem so far
Only possibility is sewing them
