Just curious, what did you do with the hiking poles after you entered the open water?

If you have a buddy the buddy can slip a one piece pole under bungees on the tank.

A better way is to get a 3 piece collapsible pole, break it down and slip it under 2 bungees on your harness in front. Like on the Right side.

Those are GREAT booties. I've been using them in Bonaire (and elsewhere) for two decades.

you can also try ankle weights.

Avoid this. With every kick you are moving dead weight around.
