Gas prices, uuuugh! Okay spoke to Sea Fox. Sheridan and Blackthorne are three tank trips at $90, with a full boat, cuz it is so far out. Full boat does not mean a packed boat with this guy, just so you know. Some guy "Larry" sent SeaFox an email inquiring about doing the the Sheridan and Seafox - guess I should have asked how many he would consider a full boat? Otherwise, Saturday is 7:a.m at the boat for a 7:30 departure - cost is $70. What do you guys think? So far we are four; Missdirected and her sister, CoolTech, Frogman. Anyone else want to join? The number for SeaFox is 727.423.3410, if someone wants to call for some reason. Let me know your thoughts and ideas.

Supposed to be the best around here. 80 foot extreme bottom. 45 ft to the pilot house. Anyway, he wants to do some ledges and has 8 peeps confirmed so far. So let me know who is in. Again $70.

Ok, I called Lighthouse to see what was available Saturday.

All that is left for diving now:

Six spots for 1:00 PM dive (get to sleep in... leave at 8:00AM)
First dive:

Ancient Mariner
This Coast Guard cutter was built in the 1930s and was originally known as the Nemesis, after the Greek goddess of vengeance. During WWII, she was used as a sub-chaser and a convoy escort. She was decommissioned in 1964 and sold to several firms before being remodeled to resemble an African steamer and becoming Fort Lauderdale’s first floating restaurant The ship/restaurant sank in 1981, was raised, remodeled, and renamed several times before finally being purchased by a Hollywood dive club and donated to the artificial reef program.

The Ancient Mariner was sunk in 70 feet of depth in 1991 to help in the formation of an artificial reef. She stretches 165 feet in length and lies in a depth range of 45 to 70 feet. Because of the several remodelings and the destruction caused by Hurricane Andrew, this ship offers opportunities for penetration at almost all levels. This dive is especially worthwhile for those interested in exploring the interior of this vessel.

I dove it last month. It is an excellent dive and really does offer penetration at all levels of skill and easily discernable.

2nd Dive:
Abby Too Ledge - Easy drift with great hills, valleys and ledges 45-60 ft depending on the side you dive

Best of all - Cost is $45.00, I'm willing to drive :14:

I will do either coast.
Just let me know where everyone wants to go (and soon if it's Pompano... boat is filling up fast)

As much as I'd like to, no can do.

That's too bad.. I just realized you are in Cape Coral... I would adjust the direction to So. I75 to pick you up

Also, have not heard from anyone else... East or West Coast... If we can find out tonight and book tomorrow.... I'm in for either side of the state

Thanks CoolTech,

But I'm out anyway. I'm going see what trouble I can get into around here.

I can't wait to hear about the trip, though. I dove the Ancient Mariner a couple of times. I actually did my OW check out dive on her-she's like an old friend.

I'm still considering options....

Cooltech, what time do you figure on getting back from the east coast???

MissD, for $70, are they REALLY NICE ledges???

And, just a crazy thought, but for less than that, I know a guy with a boat...:D

Depending on where everyone wants to eat after the diving...

Leave the dock at 1:00 arrive back between 4:30 and 5:00 add an hour for dinner puts us back in Pinellas right around 10:00 PM

I thought the guy with the boat didn't have it ready for water this weekend?

If the boat is ready... let's do that! :14:
