Can I get it new?

No, but I'm not sure why that's a problem for you. All the parts that wear can be replaced with new ones, including the rubber exhaust tee and purge cover. Actually I have one that might as well be new, it appears to have never been in the water.

I'd consider selling it for the same price as a new A700.:D But it has far fewer parts, so your tech might think it sucks.

At least you've outgrown the concern for weight. We all have to take baby steps.

If you think about it, comparing it with a new MK25/A700, it's not that crazy. After all, you can't just walk into a dive store and buy something like that. The thing is that there are many many used ones available at a fraction of the price, and once you understand that all the working/wearing parts can be replaced at rebuild, "new" doesn't have much significance to most of us.

I think I paid $20 for the 109 pictured above, in a bucket of 2nd stages on a dive shop workbench. They were likely destined for the trash. I got a couple of nice air1s as well, which are now a parts supply for my converted pilots.

I hear what you're saying Matt. There is another new one for sale although the all chrome version with a brand new MK7 for around $350. I'm not interested in the MK7 Honker, but even so if I bought and put it with the other new 156 and MK15 that would mean I got the two new seconds and a new first for a total of $525. If I can off load the MK7 for even $50, the new set would be around $475 which I think is ok for what I end up with. I'm ok with second hand, I have a few but owning new 109/156 and new Conshelfs make me happy.

I suspect TS1 is looking for "new" thinking he would have PFL (as though that would be a good thing).

Used, in good condition, is usually a much better buy as it will perform just as well and cost much less. With any luck, someone has already taken care of the first scratch for you. New is more appropriate in the showcase.
